DURR WASTE AMALGAM POTS
The waste amalgam canister "Durr pot" is a small round white pot on the bottom of all DURR suction pumps.
They should be replaced regularly and most practices wait until the suction pump reminds them to do this via a warning light or noise.
There are a few sizes of pots so if you want a quote for replacement pleas let us have the model of your pump.
Amalgam filter, rotors and Durr pots seem to be a big talking point when we get talking to potential new customers. They always seem to have at least one sat by the suction pump waiting to be disposed of.
The main reason for this that in order to carry a used amalgam filter of any kind you must have a waste carriers licence and be able to provide the practice with a consignment note and there aren't many service companies that have a licence as you need to register with the Environment Agency.
This reason is also why you will find the service engineer will leave you with a small bottle of oil when the do an oil change on the pump, oil is a hazardous waste sustance and must be disposed of correctly.
